Converting several datasets at once?

One row per feature

Every Feature becomes one row. When all features are points, the table starts with latitude and longitude columns; otherwise every row gets a wkt column, and a GeometryCollection is written as one GEOMETRYCOLLECTION value. Features with a null geometry keep their row with empty coordinate cells.

Flattening properties

  • Nested objects and arrays become JSON text in a single cell.
  • A Feature id that is not already a property becomes an id column.
  • simplestyle properties such as stroke and fill are left out, and the conversion report counts the features that had them.
  • Z values are removed, and the report mentions them when a height was not zero.

Clean numbers and safe cells

Numbers are written without exponent notation, so 1e-7 becomes 0.0000001. Cells that start with =, +, - or @ get a leading apostrophe so spreadsheets do not run them as formulas; plain negative numbers are untouched. The file is UTF-8 with a byte order mark.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to nested properties?
Objects and arrays are written as JSON text in one cell, so no value is lost, though you may want to split them further in your spreadsheet.
Can I export projected coordinates?
Yes. CSV output starts in WGS 84 latitude and longitude, but you can pick Web Mercator (EPSG:3857) as the target or open a coordinate system page that presets another one; point features then get x and y columns.
Why does a property called latitude become latitude_attr?
The CSV uses latitude, longitude, x, y and wkt for coordinates. A property with one of those names gets an _attr ending so it does not clash with the coordinate columns.
Is my GeoJSON uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser.
