Your files stay on your device
mapverter reads and converts GIS files in your browser. We do not upload your files, file names, attribute values or coordinates to our servers or to analytics services. Downloaded results are saved on your device. There are no accounts or advertising, and mapverter does not set cookies, including for language selection.
Cookie-free usage statistics
When enabled for this site, Cloudflare Web Analytics measures visits and page performance without cookies. Umami measures the six actions below without cookies; automatic page-view tracking in Umami is disabled. We use these counts to find conversion problems and understand demand for future features.
| Action | Values sent |
|---|---|
| convert_success | Input-output format pair, such as shp-kml |
| convert_fail | Input-output format pair and a predefined error code |
| limit_hit | Size band: 20-50MB, 50-200MB or 200MB+; or multi for multiple datasets |
| pro_cta_click | Button location: batch or limit-modal |
| crs_candidate_pick | Selected EPSG code |
| encoding_override | Original and selected encoding names, such as euc-kr>utf-8 |
No file names, attribute values or coordinates are included in these events. Analytics requests can also include ordinary visit information such as the page URL and browser or device details. These statistics are separate from your GIS data.
See the Cloudflare Web Analytics documentation and Umami privacy FAQ for information about those services.
Map tiles and network requests
The map preview downloads background tiles from OpenFreeMap. Its servers can see your IP address and the requested map area when serving those requests. Your file is drawn locally over the background; it is not uploaded to the tile server. Site hosting and analytics providers also receive the network information needed to serve requests.
