Column names mapverter recognizes
Column order does not matter, and upper or lower case is ignored.
- Latitude:
lat, latitudeor위도. Longitude:lon, lng, long, longitudeor경도. These columns are read as WGS 84. - Projected coordinates: columns named
xandy. - Geometry as text: a column named
wkt,geometry,geom,the_geomorshape, or any column whose first value looks like WKT, such asPOINT (127 37.5). An EWKT prefix likeSRID=4326;is ignored.
If nothing matches, mapverter asks you to pick the coordinate columns yourself.
From rows to placemarks
A column named name becomes the placemark name and description becomes its description; the other columns are stored as ExtendedData. The coordinate columns themselves are not repeated as attributes. Rows with empty or invalid coordinates are left out of the KML and counted in the conversion report.
When the coordinates are projected X and Y values in metres, choose their coordinate system first, from the offered candidates, a UTM zone picked on the map or an EPSG search. KML is always written in WGS 84 longitude and latitude.
Files that just work
Comma, semicolon and tab-separated files are detected automatically, and decimal commas such as 48,8566 are accepted when the separator is not a comma. Text encoding is detected from the byte order mark (UTF-8 or UTF-16), then strict UTF-8, then common legacy encodings.
